Inclement weather didn’t dampen the collaborative spirits of the team who got together on Saturday 19th May.

With a great show of togetherness and common purpose they got to grips with a number of the maintenance tasks and improvements that Gary had put together on his list…

So special thanks to:

the team who cleaned all the doors and glass in the Church
the sanders and sealers who got on with the new Sound and Projection desk – great progress with the Shellac and next week the final seal
the pew cleaners and tidiers
the crew who got the projector up and running in its new position.

All the tasks are really important in keeping St. Luke’s in shape; so a hearty thanks to all concerned!

Girl Power?

The Vestry received a letter this week – it was signed by fourteen members of the congregation who had two things in common:

They are all female members of St. Luke’s
They wanted to kickstart improvements in the kitchen facilities

Based on their desire to prime the pumps for improvement, they asked the Vestry to set up a bank account into which they could pay money that they set out to raise for the improvements.

The Vestry agreed and the account is to be set up.

If you want to contribute to the fund, drop the contribution into us in an envelope marked Kitchen Improvements and it will be passed on to the Treasurer and banked appropriately.

St. Luke’s Vestry (leadership team) is building out on the foundational work undertaken by the congregation when it did an inventory of the homes, groups and businesses in the Parish and the initial consultation with Ken Morgan.
Expect communications over the coming months as we appraise, define, select and execute changes and improvements in the activities at St. Luke’s as we continue the journey of

Making the Word of God fully known

and

Serving the Parish with fresh focus

This aligns with the strategic direction of the Diocese of Melbourne launched in 2010 and implemented from 2011 onwards

Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.
Do not forget or neglect to do kindness and good, to be generous and distribute and contribute to the needy, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

One of the letters written between the early Church reminds us of two key things – praising God and doing good… It’s easy to say and sometimes hard to do – and we can encourage each other and ask God to help…
